Ionian Catamarans offers private day cruises from Corfu’s Marina Gouvia aboard Sandy I, a 2021 Bavaria SR41. Departing daily at 10:00 and returning at 18:00, guests can choose from five curated itineraries covering destinations such as Paxos, Antipaxos, the Syvota Blue Lagoon, the Diapontia Islands, the northeast bays of Corfu, and the Canal d’Amour. Prices range from €2,200 to €2,700 per charter and include fuel, skipper, hostess, refreshments, snorkelling equipment, beach towels, and wine. A 2-hour sunset cruise is also available each evening from 18:30.
The Boat: Sandy I, Bavaria SR41
Sandy I is a 2021 Bavaria SR41, a 41-foot (12.79 m) sport cruiser built for comfort at speed. Twin Volvo Penta D4-300A 300hp engines deliver a cruising speed of 20 knots and a top speed of 27 knots, meaning even the furthest itinerary (the offshore Diapontia Islands) sits well within a comfortable day’s range. The boat accommodates up to 10 guests for day use, with two cabins and two heads available for multiday charters.
All cruises depart from Marina Gouvia, Corfu (49100). Alternative pick-up points can be arranged; pricing is adjusted accordingly.
Day Cruise Itineraries
Each cruise runs from 10:00 to 18:00 and is chartered exclusively; the boat is yours for the day, crew included.
Paxos & Antipaxos Blue Caves: €2,700
The signature cruise. Sandy I heads south past Mouse Island and the Old Fortress of Corfu Town before reaching Paxos, where the sea turns an improbable shade of blue inside the island’s famous sea caves. From there, the short hop to Antipaxos delivers two of the Ionians’ most celebrated beaches: Voutoumi and Vrika. The return leg takes in the harbour of Loggos and the pretty village of Gaios before swinging north through Boukari.
Syvota & the Blue Lagoon: €2,700
The Blue Lagoon at Bella Vraka is one of the most photographed spots in the Ionian, a shallow turquoise channel between a sandy islet and the mainland shore near Syvota. The itinerary also includes Vidos, a protected island just off Corfu Town, and a string of quieter anchorages: Diapori bay, Megali Ammos beach, Zeri bay, Zavia bay, and the sea caves of Mourtos.
Northeast Bays of Corfu: €2,200
The most affordable full-day option and a favourite among those who prefer relaxed cove-hopping to long offshore passages. The northeast coast of Corfu holds some of the island’s most dramatic scenery: the quiet blue caves near St. Arsenios chapel, the aristocratic bays of Kouloura, Kerasia, and St. Stefanos (known locally as the “Kensington of Corfu”), and Agni cove, a natural lunch stop with traditional tavernas directly on the water. The route continues through Erimitis Bay and finishes at Cape Psaromita and Avlaki near Kassiopi.
Diapontia Islands: €2,500
The Diapontia Islands lie northwest of Corfu, barely touched by tourism and largely off the radar of day-trip ferries. Sandy I’s speed makes them accessible without sacrificing time in the water. The itinerary includes swim stops at Erreikousa Island and a combined swim and snorkelling stop at Othonoi, the largest and most remote of the group, a place where the sea is clear enough to make the snorkelling gear feel almost redundant.
Canal d’Amour & Palaiokastritsa: €2,500
A full circumnavigation of Corfu’s highlights in eight hours. The eastern leg follows the northeast coast through Barbati, St. Arsenios, Agni, Erimitis, Cape Psaromita, and the Kassiopi fishing village before rounding the northern tip to reach the Canal d’Amour, a narrow canyon of rust-coloured rock and sea. The western side of the island is wilder: Afionas Beach, the double bay of Porto Timoni, and the legendary Byzantine monastery and sea caves of Palaiokastritsa.
Sunset Cruise: €600
A 2-hour evening cruise from 18:30 to 20:30, following Corfu’s western seafront past the Old Fortress, Corfu Town, Garitsa Bay, and Pontikonisi, the small cypress-covered islet that inspired Arnold Böcklin’s Isle of the Dead. The sunset cruise includes refreshments, wine, and fruits. Light snacks, snorkelling equipment, and beach towels are not included.
