Ionian Catamarans at 2nd Yachting Festival Athens

As a company we love meeting new people, acquiring knowledge and sharing our own with various agents, yacht owners, clients or even just passing-by people that admire sailing as much as we do. This is the reason we try to participate in as many festivals, boat shows and seminars as we can, to make our own company better and help others reinforce their own. One of the festivals we enjoyed was the 2nd Yachting Festivalin Athensfrom 11th to 14th of April.

THE FIRST CONTACT
We arrived in Alimos in Thursday, placed our boat in its position and starting getting out things settled. Of course, when you have everything planned something will go wrong and in our case it was the wonderful UNPREDICTABLE Greek weather! So, after getting a bit wet we understood why biminis are really useful (except from protecting you from the sun the make in fact a really good umbrella).

WHY STAY INSIDE WHEN YOU CAN “SING IN THE RAIN”?
The pouring rain did not manage to ruin our mood (it ruined our hair however)and we starting exploring the marina. We made many new acquaintances in a quiet “lyrical scenery”, of a rainy sunset, talked about our exhibition boat, a Bavaria Nautitech 46 Fly Catamaran called “Vesselina” and showed our visitors around. After taking a look to other boats we decided to attend a conference regarding the evolution of sea tourism and yachting internationally and in East Mediterranean and talk about marketing strategies by exchanging ideas with local and foreign entrepreneurs.

On Saturday we booked numerous meetings with potential clients and co-agents, presented our services, and discussed about the projection of the sea tourism. A busy day, but it was so interesting that we did not feel at all tired in the end of it, and we were getting ready for the next, and last day of the festival.

THE GOODBYES
Sunday was the only sunny day, and of course… our favorite one!Alimos Marina was fullof visitors, potential clients, agents and different suppliers for boat equipment. We had our last appointments and enjoyed the day with the rest of the participants. Our “Vesselina” was shiny and dry (after three days of rain) and the visitors could not get enough of her.
A planned event is nothing without its unexpected “events” so as soon as we started sailing back home we were already “planning” our next trip. You might find us in Athens, Vienna, Cannes and in many other places with festival and boat shows! Save the dates and prepare yourselves for new additions in our fleet that will be presented in every occasion.
Until then, and if you can’t wait for a sneak peek of what’s new, you can find “IONIAN CATAMARANS by PATRAS YACHTS” team in our bases in Lefkas and Corfu, creating the conditions for unique summer sailing holidays for our clients.
